Benefit Year was launched in February with a Black Tie Corporate
Dinner at the Riverside at which David Graveney and Harold Tavroges
were the speakers. There has also been a Dinner, sponsored by Don
Robson with Geoff Cook and Alan Fox as the speakers, and a Members'
Supper, with a panel of new Coach Martyn Moxon, new Captain Jon
Lewis and Simon.
Souvenir Brochure containing articles about Simon by many well-known
people in cricket is now available from the Club Shop, together
with an attractive Benefit tie. I'm sure that many of you will want
to show your appreciation of an outstanding, big-hearted Durham-born
cricketer, who has always given 100%. All donations are welcome.
Please make cheques or postal orders payable to The Simon Brown
being planned include golf days; a cricket match between Hartlepool
FC and Darlington FC at Hartlepool on 4th July; Benefit matches
at local clubs and a Race Day at Newcastle on 8th August. There
is also a competition called the Wicket Wizard, details of which
are in the Brochure, as well as a competition being promoted by
Tom Moffatt in support of Simon's Benefit. For more information

Committee also hopes to be able to have collections for Simon at
selected Durham matches, including at the Sunday League game between
Durham and Glamorgan on 8th July, which is Simon's Benefit Match.
