Durham Cricket Board

The Durham Cricket Board came into being in 1996 to co-ordinate and act as the channel for funding coming into the County from The Cricket Foundation.

Since 1996 The Durham Cricket Board has continued to develop cricket at all levels below First Class. There are some 30+ organisations helping cricket develop. One of the most important roles of the Durham Cricket Board is to co-ordinate the development of the game between the contributing organisations across Durham.

The Durham Cricket Board operates with funding from the Cricket Foundation. The Cricket Foundation was set up with funding from the First Class game to ensure the progress of the game and to develop it at all levels in all 38 counties. The Durham Cricket Board applies every year for funding. Last year we received £64,750.

This money is used to employ 2 Cricket Development Officers who contribute greatly to the delivery of Durham Cricket Board's Development Plan.

The Development of the game takes place over seven distinct areas.
1. Primary School
2. Secondary School
3. Club Cricket
4. District Cricket
5. County Representative Cricket
6. First Class Cricket
7. Team England (International Cricket)
