Martin Love Arrives

Martin Love, Durham's new overseas player flew in from Australia to launch the club's new one day kit sponsored by Northern Rock and manufactured in the region by Logitog.

The 26 year old Queensland Bulls batsman arrived after a highly successful season in which he was named the Bulls Player of the Year and helped them win the Pura Cup Final just two weeks ago.

He arrived to find temperatures hovering just above freezing but said: "I
was warned by Simon Katich who was here last year that things can start off a bit cold and he wasn't joking.

"However, I have been promised that things will warm up and I did play some league cricket in England last year so I am not a total stranger to the conditions.

"I know a fair amount about Durham and I am really looking forward to
playing at an exciting time for the club. Today has shown that there is
tremendous support from the business community and in Martyn Moxon the club has got one of the best coaches around."

Martyn Moxon - "We look forward with anticipation to what Martin Love can bring to Durham. The more we hear about him the better he seems to be. If Martin can average for Durham what he has averaged for Queensland, we will be more than happy."
