Primary School Literacy Competition

Competition Outline

To enter each school will produce a 12 page programme describing:

  1. The School, the local area, Chester-le-Street/Durham County Cricket Club as a tourist attraction
  2. The Caribbean as a holiday destination,
  3. Zimbabwe as a holiday destination
  4. Any aspect of cricket the children find interesting (school team, England team coaching, DCCC etc).

The material will be written, designed and produced by Year 5 or Year 6 children. Two separate competitions will run one for Yr. 5 entries and one for Yr. 6 entries.

The production of the programme should be undertaken during the summer term.
The closing date for the competition is 30th June 2000.
The judging date for the competition is 3rd July 2000.
Entry will be by written application to the Cricket Development Department, Durham Cricket Board, County Ground, Riverside, Chester-le-Street. DH3 3QR.
