The Academy is the lifeblood of Durham C.C.C, having produced ten of the present playing staff. Sixteen of Durham's playing staff have been born and bred in the North East, ten of whom have come up through the highly acclaimed Academy.

The success of Durham's Academy has now been recognised by the ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board) and Sport England by being appointed as one of seven National Academies.

The purpose of the newly formed National Academies is to identify cricketers from the age of thirteen in the North East who have the potential of playing at the highest level. The coaching programme available to the selected group will be as advanced as any in the world and will therefore require a significant financial investment from Durham CCC.

Durham are now looking to businesses in the region to become involved in the Academy. An Academy Partner scheme has been developed around a range of hospitality and branding opportunities. The benefits of the scheme will provide you and your company with a tangible return on your investment including the pleasure of witnessing young Academy players reaching the Test Match stage and developing into World Class Cricketers.

The Academy Partnership offers you and your company the opportunity to shape the England team of tomorrow, an England team that we wish to be made up of Durham players that have come up through the Academy. Those companies partaking in the partnership scheme will be playing an important role in the future of English cricket. If you would like to discuss how you could play your part, please contact Gordon Hollins in our Commercial Department on 0191 387 2811.
